The First Noel
Although we don’t know the exact date when Jesus Christ was born, celebrating the birth of Jesus on Christmas has been a tradition for centuries. The French word “Noel” stands for Christmas. Also, the term “noel” has roots in the Latin word, “natalis,” which means “birth.”
Our family loves Christmas, and this is when we think of others and the birth of Jesus more than any other time of the year. To quote an old phrase, “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.”
In essence, this painting blends a bit of Christmas surrealism and nostalgia into honoring the birth of our Savior and Redeemer. So, an appropriate title for this painting could be, “The First Christmas Birth,” or as the old hymn says, “The First Noel.”
